Chester's top 3 win in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) semi-finals in Toronto earlier this month has won him a spot in the finals which take place April 12-20th in New York. Now 17, Chester began his ballet training in 2004 in Langley, BC. He has been with Goh Ballet since 2010 where he has enjoyed a succession of solo and lead roles, notably in The Nutcracker first as the boy "Fritz" and in recent years "The Nutcracker Prince."
Sometimes described as 'the Olympics' of amateur ballet, the YAGP is the world's largest ballet competition for young dancers with approximately 10,000 dancers competing in the semi-finals. With all the world's major ballet companies in attendance, the finals in New York are a stepping stone to a place in a professional company for many young dancers. Click here for more info.
Chester is the eldest son of our Rector, The Reverend Scott Gould and his wife, Suzanne Morgan.
