Meet our new Youth Leader this Sunday!

We are truly delighted to have Kate Newman joining us in the role of Youth and Children’s Leader. Reporting to the Rector, she will have responsibility for all aspects of our ministry with children, youth, and their families including Godly Play, Friday Night Youth Drop In, and Journey to Adulthood.

Join us at the 10am Service January 10th as Kate is introduced to the community.

Kate is an experienced educator in theology and the arts with demonstrable skills in applying fine arts to deliver social change and social justice, community outreach, and curriculum design and delivery. She integrates approaches from theatre, drama, theology and educational psychology. She has included work with church communities, young immigrants, adults with exceptionalities, highly diverse urban communities, and children with the experience of living in war zones. She was the full time youth leader at Christ Church Cathedral Vancouver for five years. Kate received a Marks of Mission award from the Primate for her work as the principal developer of a Sunday School curriculum entitled ‘The Compendium of the Church Mice.’

We are delighted also to welcome Kate’s eight year old son Mo (Moses)!
